Who we are
This website, worksmarto.com, is operated by Worksmarto, based in Erode, Tamil Nadu, India. For the purposes of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we act as the Data Fiduciary for personal data collected through this site. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, we act as the Data Controller.

What we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data.
Analytics data. When you visit this site and consent to analytics cookies, we collect your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you spend on them, and the source that referred you. This is collected through Google Analytics 4.
Advertising data. This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may collect data about your visits to this site and other websites in order to serve ads that are relevant to your interests. This includes the use of cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, and interactions with ads. Google may also associate this data with information from your Google account if you are signed in.
Search data. We receive aggregated, non-identifying reports through Google Search Console showing which search queries led visitors to this site. This data does not identify individual users.
Contact form data. If you submit a form on this site, we collect the information you enter, which may include your name, email address, and message content. Forms are processed using Ninja Forms.
Technical and security data. Our hosting provider and Jetpack collect server logs and security-related data, including IP addresses, for the purpose of keeping the site running and protecting it from abuse.
Newsletter subscription data. If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is collected and processed by Automattic Inc. (Jetpack Newsletter) on our behalf. Automattic stores subscriber data on its servers and handles all email delivery, bounce management, and unsubscribe processing. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or manage your subscription through your WordPress.com account. You may request deletion of your subscriber data at any time by contacting us at hello@worksmarto.com or directly through your WordPress.com account settings.
Why we collect it, and on what legal basis
We use analytics data to understand which articles are read and to decide what to write next. Under GDPR our legal basis is your consent, which you give through the cookie banner and may withdraw at any time. Under the DPDP Act, we rely on your consent as notified to you at the point of collection.
We use advertising data to display relevant ads and to support the operation of this site. Under GDPR our legal basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner. Under the DPDP Act, we rely on your consent as notified to you at the point of collection.
We use contact form data solely to respond to your message. We do not add you to a mailing list without a separate, explicit opt-in.
We use technical and security data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.

This site uses cookies. Cookies strictly necessary for the site to function are set automatically. All other cookies, including analytics and advertising cookies, are set only after you give consent through the banner shown on your first visit.

Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share it with the following processors, each of whom acts on our instructions.
Google LLC, for Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Google AdSense. Automattic Inc., for Jetpack statistics, security features, and newsletter subscription management. Hostinger International Ltd., for website hosting.
Google AdSense may also share data with third-party advertising networks and partners for the purpose of serving and measuring advertisements. You can review the list of Google’s advertising partners at Google’s partner sites page.
International transfers
Google LLC and Automattic Inc. are based in the United States, so data shared with them is transferred outside India and outside the European Economic Area. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has recognised as providing an adequate level of protection.
Hostinger International Ltd. is established in the European Union and operates data centres in several regions. Details of its data processing terms are available in its own privacy documentation.
How long we keep it
Google Analytics data is retained for 2 months, which is the Google Analytics default, and is then deleted automatically. Contact form submissions are kept for 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Server logs are retained according to our host’s policy.
We do not export, download or separately store analytics data ourselves. We view it only within the Google Analytics interface, where Google’s retention setting governs how long it exists.
Advertising-related data collected by Google AdSense is retained and managed by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy and data retention practices.
Your rights
If you are in India, the DPDP Act gives you the right to access a summary of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased, to nominate another person to exercise your rights, and to raise a grievance with us.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

Children
This site is not directed at children. Under the DPDP Act, processing the personal data of anyone under 18 requires verifiable parental consent, and we do not knowingly collect such data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes or as the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
